Not in my Name

2016
poster triptych in public space

Project is presented at TAM-TAM’s Street Gallery on Vegova street Ljubljana as part of By The Way exhibition series in public space organized in 2016 by Kino Šiška.

The triptych titled Not in my Name is composed of three drawings, in which I tackle the themes of state-supported violence and xenophobia, which emerged at last year’s mass migration of refugees. The first two (Safety for Whom? and The Patriots) were already showcased as line drawings at the Exploination solo exhibition, held at the Alkatraz Gallery in April. The third (Freedom for Whom?) was created especially for the project at the Street Gallery.

I have added colours which represent the merging of events with everyday social realities, while at the same time forming a contrast that highlights their unacceptability and absurdity, to all three drawings.
