My mother’s text about our cooperation

My view of contemporary art after extensive explanation …

… is becoming a bit clearer and better. Until now I have had quite a negative opinion, because I thought that contemporary art was just a mirror of contemporary society which has been in crisis for a few years now. It is true that I saw reports on TV about some exhibitions that totally disappointed me (like installations of human corpses, piercing parts of human body with needles and similar things) and I thought that all contemporary art was alike. After looking at some art books and hearing some explanations, I have changed my opinion. I like some art pieces very much; they are incorporated very well into nature which, for me, is still the biggest work of art. I particularly liked the artist Joseph Beuys, because his message is to save the Earth from pollution. But I do not believe in the new way of thinking that anything that is put inside an art gallery is automatically a work of art.
